Artisan of the Week || Hawthorne Coffee

Based in beautiful Havelock North, Hawthorne Coffee is a speciality coffee roastery run by Tom and Benita. Taking over the business in their mid-20’s, the pair hit the ground running and set to work learning the specialised craft of roasting and making coffee.
Hawthorne Coffee gave Tom the chance to combine his hospitality skills and affinity for machinery with an established fondness for beverages. Add in Benita’s vivaciousness and love of hosting a party and the couple’s combined strengths added up to success.
Fast forward to 2021, Tom and Benita now supply superb coffee to cafés, restaurants, offices and homes all around NZ. As Benita puts it, “Our coffee makes people happy and I think happiness is success.”
